The Story of RI Studio - I

Dear readers, 

Welcome to RI Studio – where authentic design meets elevated interiors. It is my hope that you will feel at home within these pages. I hope you will also find the RI Studio blog to be a valuable resource for you and for all of your interior design and design-build needs. With more than a decade of experience in the industry and multiple award-winning projects, I have a deep well of information and expertise that I am delighted to share with you. First, a little more background information on how RI Studio came to be and how we cater to our clients’ needs from dirt to drapes. 

I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. It’s in my blood and in my DNA. My childhood was spent accompanying my Dad, a seasoned homebuilder, to job sites. This exposure to construction sites has helped shape my deep love for architecture. So much so that it led me to pursue a minor in architecture at Texas Tech University while also realizing my true passion and majoring in interior design. 

Founding RI Studio in 2018 was never a matter of “if,” but “when.” Before that could happen, I knew I wanted to spend the first few stages of my career sharpening my skills. This would require me to establish my reputation, and build a network of strong industry partners. I spent the past decade designing at renowned firms like Hawkins-Welwood Homes, Traci Connell Interiors, and Lucas/Eilers Design Associates. My experience with these firms helped me build my technical skills and hone in on my aesthetic. 

I believe that interior design is a reflection of us as people. Great design should be an extension of a client’s lifestyle. It should take into account how people live, work, and entertain. Those are the moments that life is all about, and interior design helps facilitate and nurture those moments. The “RI” in RI Studio stands for “rendered interiors”. We have an eye for architectural detail and can envision every project fully with the precise finishes and furnishings. This provides our clients with the confidence to know that our clear vision will result in a design that is creative, innovative, and uniquely theirs. 

The first two years of our story have been full of tremendous growth. We have also been humbled by the number of industry awards and accolades. The greatest gift we’ve come across so far is the number of happy clients whom we’ve grown to cherish. We’ve become known as the firm that creates designs that are exclusive, elevated, and a little bit unexpected. Whether our clients are homeowners or home builders, each new project is an opportunity to surprise and delight my clients and my own sense of wonderment for rendering beautiful interiors. 

Each project is individualistic; no two ideas are ever repeated. This is the crux of the RI Studio tagline: “Rendered Interiors. Exclusive Designs.”
